Pilates, Yoga & Personal Training

At our studio you will receive personaized instruction in a friendly, supportive and non-competitive atmosphere designed to bring forth a sense of physical accomplishment. We are equipped with a full range of gym equipment and Pilates apparatus.  Our goal is to teach clients how exercise can benefit their body and we design programs for each client consisting of what they can do safely to achieve their goals. The benefits provided from training at The Studio at Newport Physical Therapy can help in the reduction of injuries, enhance athletic abilities and provide more efficient movement patterns to perform your daily activities with more ease and efficiency.

All of our instructors and trainers are very knowledgeable and in addition, have worked as aides to physical therapists. This allow them to utilize their experience working with injuries to modify exercise programs and provide a safe exercise environment. They also have the added benefit of receiving direction from our physical therapist to develop or modify an exercise program when needed. All of our Pilates instructors are comprehensively trained in Classical Pilates and our trainers have Physical Therapy Assistant, Kinesiology or Athletic Training degrees.

The Fitness 2-for-1 Introductory Offer can be used for either Pilates or personal training.  It is the ideal preparation to initiate you to our facility and begin your commitment to better health. No Matter your path, we recommend 2-3 sessions per week to establish consistency and maximize benefits. The Studio at Newport Physical Therapy is available Monday through Saturday to answer all of your questions and make every effort to ensure you are 100% satisfied.

Vicky Logan

Vicky Logan,
Athletic Trainer

Vicky received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Athletic Training and a Minor in Science from California State University, Dominquez Hills in 2003. Vicky has been working for Newport Physical Therapy in patient care and training clients since 2003. Vicky has completed levels 1 and 2 Reformer Pilates training from Polestar Pilates Education. Her  professional experience’s includes orthopedics, sports conditioning, and functional training. Vicky has experience working with patients/clients as they heal during physical therapy as well as post-rehabilitation. She applies all of her experience to develop a tailored session for her clients.

 

Rachel Suggs

Rachel Suggs,
Personal Trainer, Pilates & Yoga Instructor

Rachel received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology (Exercise Science) from Rhode Island University in 2010. She was certified in Pilates  from Body Arts and Science International under Rael Isacowitz in 2013 and certified in Ashtanga Yoga through All Yoga in 2015.  Rachel has a life-long love of sports and movement. While competing nationally in synchronized swimming she used Pilates to compliment her training regimen and found it extremely effective. Currently, she uses a combination of Pilates and weight training to challenge and help her clientele improve their overall fitness level. Rachel believes that the classes she offers her clients are a perfect combination of precision-based movements as well as strength training. She is excited to share her love of gaining strength, flexibility, and balance through movement in the encouraging, friendly environment at The Studio at Newport Physical Therapy.

Alexandra Gorman

Alexandra Gorman,
Pilates Instructor

Alex is a Body Arts and Science International certified Pilates instructor. She completed her undergraduate at Whittier College where she majored in Social Work with a minor in psychology. In addition to her undergraduate degree she also spent time at orange coast community college where she received a certificate in nutrition education.

Prior to entering the world of Pilates Alex spent four years teaching gross motor skills through sport to children under five in the city of Newport Beach. Athletics and sports have been part of her life from a very young age and include: water polo, swim, tennis, soccer, softball and cheerleading. When she is not at the studio you might find her hiking, cycling, skiing or relaxing on the beach. She has a positive attitude and enjoys helping people achieve their fitness goals. 

Priya Chisti

Priya Chisti,
Pilates Instructor

Priya attended California State University, Long Beach and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with emphasis on Exercises Science in May 2014. Priya studied under Karen Clippinger and is certified through Body Arts and Science International with an additional specialization in Pilates for dancers. She has also completed level 1 and 2 CoreAlign Training. Her education and extensive dance training and teaching makes her passionate about sharing the benefits of Pilates to clients of all ages and abilities. In addition to training client in Pilates, she is a Physical Therapy Aide at Newport Physical Therapy, utilizing all her experience with injured populations to most benefit her Pilates clients.

Debra Stafford

Debra Stafford,
Pilates Instructor

Debra sees her job as reading the stories your bodies tell, and helping you write the next chapters with greater awareness, balance and correct alignment. Debra discovered Pilates in 1995 at a local college on a summer break from Princeton University. An analytical thinker with a passion for interpretation of objects of beauty Debra was immediately drawn to Pilates. She received her Pilates Certification with an emphasis in Dance Conditioning under Karen Clippinger and Rael Isacowitz at Body Arts and Science International in 2010.  Debra has experience in rehabilitative, post-rehabilitative, college, and studio settings. In addition, she is a Level 1 CoreAlign Instructor. Debra's intuitive knowledge of the body and how it works, and her background in a variety of clinical settings, helps her develop the appropriate exercise program for your body, Whether you are recovering from an injury or looking to enhance your performance at a competitive level. She has a meticulous focus on form so that you strengthen the correct muscles and stay safe. Her positive and friendly attitude is encouraging and will inspire you to do your best.

Dennis Ocampo

Dennis Ocampo,
Support Staff Advisor, Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor

Dennis grew up playing sports his entire life and enjoyed the competitive aspect it had. With sports, came some injury. Through his experiences healing them and finding ways to continue his sporting activities, his love for rehabilitation and improving human performance started. Dennis received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from California State University Long Beach. In addition to his education, he also received a CF (Cross Fit) Level-1 certification that specializes in functional training. Dennis has also completed Pilates training (reformer levels 1, 2 & 3) through Polestar Education.  Dennis has experience working with kids and adults of all ages; whether you are recovering from an injury or looking to improve your performance, he serves as a Physical Therapy Aide and trainer at Newport Physical Therapy.

Babak Ghadaksaz

Babak Ghadaksaz,
Personal Trainer

Babak is a former division one athlete who understands the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He received his Bachelors of Science in Pre-Clinical Health at Portland State University and his Masters in Kinesiology from the University of North Dakota all while earning full scholarships to play football for both schools. Babak utilizes the work ethic and discipline he developed as an athlete for over 10 years to help his clients achieves their personal goals.  Along with this he is a NASM-CPT with a great knowledge of sports performance and proper training technique.  Babak is driven to help individuals reach their goals not for just the physical benefits, but mentally and emotionally as well. He is constantly inspired by the progress and success his clients achieve. You can also find him assisting patients of all ages at our clinic as a physical therapy aide
